When kids get to a certain age, they start to get really concerned about what is cool and what is not. By the tween and teen years, this way of thinking is in full effect. As a parent, this makes planning any activities, such as kids birthday parties, extra difficult, as its not always easy to find a location that meets your childs cool criteria.
Happy Birthday to you.
Consider building an entire party around one special theme, like your child is favourite story character, or dinosaurs, or pirates, or princesses, or dragons, or any one of a thousand things. Sure, some of these may be party clichés, but kids still love them! The use of a theme can extend to the party invitations and table settings, as well as the room decorations. You can even develop party games using the same theme, and you can show a relevant movie during the party. Of course, don not forget the traditional party hats, noisemakers and party favors. You might even want to try a costume party. For example, have all of the invited kids come dressed as pirates, or as Harry Potter characters!
Amusement parks offer plenty to do regardless of the time of year or weather conditions, which is a very nice perk. When planning kids birthday parties, you can not always be assured in advance what the weather conditions will be like that day. Nobody wants to get rained out if they are planning an outdoor party.
Now, scatter the pieces from all the boards around the backyard. Designate each team an area to assemble their puzzle. Three members will work on assembly while one person can run out and get the other pieces. The first team to find and assemble their entire puzzle wins.
