Yes, you may be thinking that other people have the same birthday as I. I understand that other people might have the same birthday as I, but how often do we know someone with our same birthday? Not many people do. As it just so happens, I do, but he is a young child of my best friend and does not live in the vicinity of me. I just think we all deserve to have this day set aside to be special. Why is it that many people want their day to be special, but when it is someone else is birthday, it seems like just another day to us? As you get older, it seems birthdays become less important to everyone except the person whose birthday it is. People begin to acknowledge your birthday by a mere, Happy Birthday, as though it is an obligation, a task, an effort to even utter the two words. You get less presents, parties, and attention. If anything, you should be getting more, because at least when you are older you can truly appreciate and enjoy these things. How many of us remember our 2nd birthday? Or even our 10th? 14th? 19th? What did you do? What did you get? These younger birthdays should be less extravagant. As we get older, our birthdays should just keep getting better and better, as if you just do not know how it could be topped.
Lets go back to the origins though...
It is one of the most commonly used phrases in the English language, sung around the world on a daily basis, but what do birthdays really mean to us?
Happy Birthday to you,
This is yet another fun game. All you need to do is make an easy bean bag using double layer of poster board glued together and a large box. Then use a large box as a base, and attach the poster board to one side of it. Before attaching the poster board, paint a design on it, make one or more hole. The kids will have lot of fun throwing those bean bags. If you want you can even give bean bags as party favors.
This all came to a head when Irving Berlins musical As Thousands Cheer used and didnot credit the Good Morning to All melody, the third hill sister called Jessica who administered the copyrights for her sisters filed a suit, and by being able to demonstrate concrete and undeniable similarities between Good Morning to All and Happy Birthday to You in a court of law she was able to obtain the copyright for Happy Birthday to You for her sisters as well.
